Walkin' the Doggy Dog

Since the parents have been out of town, the job of walking the dog has fallen to me. I was a little hesitant to take on this particular task; was I going to pass out and have a heart attack on the walk? Would I be hit by a car (I haven’t had good luck walking along Holladay Blvd.)? Would Barkley decide that he wanted to run and drag me around the Dog Park in cartoon form?

Regardless, I have taken on the task and I quite like it! It is pleasant to get out and enjoy the fresh air, get a spot of exercise and have somebody to talk to that will listen implicitly to the nothingness ramblings that spew out of my mouth. One of my favorite things about the walk is the scenery. That is really, why I am writing this blog; so I can post these pictures.

For a long time I took the neighborhood, I was raised in for granted. It is truly a remarkable portion of God’s green earth!

I just got back from a Barkley walk and you're right...it's a beautiful neighborhood. I think Barkley was getting annoyed with me because I kept stopping to take pictures. It is really nice to get outside (even if it's wet and rainy) and take in all the amazing fall colors. Love it! Puts me in the mood for some Gar-Halloween-Field...

Oh, it makes me miss pretty Salt Lake, especially during the fall. Thanks for taking some pictures! You should go up Millcreek with Barkley! He loves it, and I bet is SO pretty! And then he could go swimming:)

I finally went back and found the e-mail that had your blog address on it so I could link it from our blog. I've been falling behind on your poststyles - too much time shooting guns. Cool pictures of the neighborhood. Thus far, old Boise has its nice, scenic areas, but I think that ye olde Wasatch front is really hard to top.

When I asked you to walk Barkley I didn't consider what your reaction might be - memories of the bad sherrif. I also didn't know about the Holladay walker murderer. Wow! You were brave! At any rate, I've had the same experience you had. I often feel like it is such a bother and then we go and it turns out to be the best part of my day!
